Team Spotlight: Patrick Boyle

Meet Patrick, owner of Celtic Flooring. Patrick doesn’t remember a time when he wasn’t involved in the flooring industry. “When I was nine years old, I would go to job sites with my father and learn how to use and utilize the tools needed for the job” says Patrick. “By the time I was 18, I was installing full-time in the upstate New York area. “He shares that he learned a great deal from his Dad about hard work, believing in the American dream, and the integrity required in running a business. After running an installation business for 14 years, Patrick decided to open Celtic Flooring. That was almost 20 years ago. Today an average day has him always on the go, meeting with clients and going to job sites to ensure that all projects meet customer expectations. When asked what he likes best about Celtic, Patrick says, “I enjoy working with my team. We are all hardworking, dedicated professionals committed to providing our customers with quality flooring projects and a company they can trust.” In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his family.

Kevin was born in Woodbridge, Virginia, and has traveled extensively and has lived in many different states before landing back in Northern Virginia. In the last five years, he has built extensive ties to the community. When asked what he likes best about working for Celtic, he says, “The family-like atmosphere.” His proudest moment at Celtic was when he landed a large project that he had been working on for over a year. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and going to car shows.

Why Fall is Fantastic for Flooring

With the holidays right around the corner, fall is the perfect time to replace the flooring in your home, and Celtic Flooring is here to help! Let us share with you why fall is the best time to install new flooring in your home.

Comfortable Installation

When installing flooring, doors will be open a lot. Removing old flooring and bringing in new materials will mean when it’s too warm or too cold, your home will be uncomfortable. In the summer, your AC will work overtime; in the winter, your heat will.

Less Changes to Materials

Installation in spring or summer can be risky because of humidity and rain. Natural materials can swell, becoming distorted when the material shrinks. Additionally, any flooring that needs adhesive may not set correctly when it is too warm. When it is too cold, wood flooring can dry out or shrink, which can lead to separation or cracking.

You’ll Want Ventilation and Fresh Air

New floors and carpeting can make fumes and odors. Adhesives, sealers, stains and off gassing, you may want the windows open for ventilation to get rid of fumes and odors.
